Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is Openbox's view of the credit market?

At Openbox we understand that the Brazilian credit market can and should be more transparent and participative in finding solutions for clients and investors.

    Everyone gains with it.

Since customers qualify and understand better the relationship of their sales with the liquidity of their roles,
as well as investors who can allocate their investments to a qualified and intelligent ecosystem.

  • Why do you think it's possible to do it differently?

    • Current structure of credit supply centralized in few banks
    • Few regional credit options for companies
    • Investment options without the transparency or the socio-environmental responsibility purpose we are bringing
    • Lack of a greater purpose, a healthy coexistence between organizations in the search for qualification and financial education in companies

  • Where did this idea come from and why do you think it will work?

The idea came from the necessity for the reduction of the existing gaps in the national market. For companies, in their relationship with banks, and also for investors who, even though are the capital owners, do not have the freedom or transparency to allocate their resources into the companies that are really working for the economy’s development.

  • What is the advance of receivables?

The advance of receivables is the process of anticipating future receipts (payments from customers) of your company for the present date.
Imagine that you sold a product and will get paid within 45 days from the deal.
If you ask to advance this payment, you receive this money immediately in your account, therefore strengthening your cash flow.

  • In what situations can this help my business?

Unlike to what we may think, the advance of receivables should be used as a healthy financial strategy and not only in times of tightening in the cash flow.

Prepayment of your suppliers. Example: You can anticipate your receivables, thus with cash, you can buy your raw materials at a discount. Usually, this discount is higher than the discount rate on the advance.

It must be used before resorting to high overdraft fees or delaying the payment of the company's credit card, because of the so much higher interests.

As a temporary measure to solve some sales issue which couldn’t be planned or even due to seasonality.

That is why, in most cases, the advance of receivables is the best alternative when compared to the bank loans.

  • Do I need to issue payment orders to my client?
